Fishing Report 03/24/2022
The Salmon River is currently flowing at 944 CFS and is in the high 40's as far at temperature goes.As of this morning, visibility was around 4 feet. That's as good as it's been all Spring.
I really expected the river to blow out by now, but it has held up really nicely and has actually improved as days go by. I expect the river to hold up through the weekend.
Fishing has been pretty good. We get multiple reports everyday of people catching Steelhead. There's even been some guys from the shop hooking a few fish on swinging flies. Flies like the Hoh-Bo Spey and The Burnt Chicken have been producing as of late. We've been getting some hookups on Rabbit Leeches as well. Flies like The Willie Nelson and String Leeches.
I really encourage you to get out this weekend! It looks like it is going to be a beautiful weekend with lots of warmer weather and sunshine. It should be a great weekend to put a boat on, especially with all the boat ramps between 11 Mile and North Fork clear of ice and snow. IDF&G has yet again done a great job making sure the ramps are clear this year.
Go Fish!
