RIVER REPORT for March 20, 2025

Happy first day of Spring! Today the Salmon River is flowing at a stable 1050 cfs with water temps in the low 40’s and 2’-3’ of visibility. The weather forecast looks to be all over the place in the coming days, including mid 60’s in the middle of next week. Lots of good fishing weather ahead with maybe a little snow on Saturday.

Fishing has stayed consistent in the Salmon area this week. Productive patterns have been Hoh Bo Spey’s, Burnt Chickens, and Bunny Leeches in darker colors. Nymph fishermen are successfully using Pats Rubber legs and a variety of Egg Patterns under a strike indicator.
